Fictional

God is a fictional character,
A hero or villain by turns,
Gallavanting through the mind
In endless processions of whys,
Asking and asking, with a strict
Policy of not answering;
He gallops about, dashing off
Little novels as he rides,
Tossing them to crowds of
Hopeful side characters
Longing to have a plot device
All their own-maybe even
A chapter with a lurid flashback;

God is a fictional character
And so am I.
